I will be at Tyler’s on the drag Friday from 12-5pm doodling on TOMS shoes. This is a big deal… I know it’s a big deal because I will have cards to hand out with my name and a short bio printed on them. That’s a pretty big deal right? My buddies Maseman and Will “Mr. Fancy Pants” Bryant will be hanging out drawing on shoes as well. Should be fun.

Friday Art: The Chase
Friday, January 22nd, 2010My pal Tony recently had a little baby girl. He commissioned me to make a painting for the little peanut’s room. I had a lot of fun making it.
I hope she grows up to wear top hats and mustache bow ties.
Tony is co-owner of print addiction, they throw art show/parties and print artists’ work on tees. There’s one going on as I type this. So if you are in the Austin area and want to get a The Amazing Hancock Bros t-shirt and possibly buy some of their art, you should go. You should probably leave now. Have fun kids.
Package from Kelly
Saturday, January 16th, 2010I got a package from my good pal and fellow art/design nerd, Kelly Thacker. I met Kelly at Paul Frank years ago. She still works there and makes awesome stuff.
A couple weeks ago I was at Urban Outfitters and I came across a wallet Kelly had designed for the oh-so-cool Toddland (also an ex pf comrade). I was so excited to see her fun wallet that I took these pics in the store:
I’d mentioned to her I was in need of a laptop sleeve AND that I REALLY liked her wallet and she was nice enough to send me a huge package including both of those things and more!! I even got a note from one of my favorite people/artists ever, Parker Jacobs! You may not know this but most of my style is ripped off from… I mean, “influenced” by Parker.
There was also a sweet zine, put together by PF Art Director, Mike Smith, from an art show that Kelly was in that her co-worker Alex Funderburk curated. Here are a few of my favorite pages:

Talented bunch eh? Thanks so much Kelly!! Way too kind of you.
Friday Art: El Hippie Guapo (2 shows this weekend)
Friday, December 4th, 2009I will be showing some art in 2 venues this weekend. Tonight from 6 to 10pm is the opening of Mexic-Arte Museum’s Mix N Mash show which I made a super new and fun piece for. Tickets are $25 and my buddies James Huizar, Randy Muniz, and Tony Diaz will also have pieces in this show. Nothing but 12×12 inch panels here. For a full list of the artists and all the details click here.
Here is the piece I made for the Mix N Mash show. Click here to view the process shots.
Tomorrow the Maranda Pleasant Gallery will be holding their annual 12×12 box show with every piece priced at $100 . Some of the proceeds will go to Explore Austin. There is no cover for this exhibit and you can even go before the madness from 10am to 6pm to do some early purchasing. The party is from 6pm to 10pm. A few friends will be showing work here as well including: Jeremy Burks, Will Bryant, and Zach McDonald. Apparently 25 pieces have already sold! So go, go, GOOOO!
Stay warm this weekend err’body.
Sex and Death Art Show
Saturday, October 17th, 2009I was invited to be a part of The Sex and Death show over at the The Fifth Gallery in downtown Austin. The opening was last night but the work will be up until November 13th when there will be a closing reception.
My favorite piece in the show was by none other than my good buddy, Jeremy Burks. He is what they call “mad talented.”
Here is the drawing I did for the show.
you can view more photos from the opening night and other fabulous art submissions here. Big thank you to John Gomi and the rest of The Fifth Gallery.

FRIDAY ART: Matt The Electrician
Friday, July 31st, 2009Have you heard of Matt the Electrician before? He’s an electrician turned singer/songwriter/genius and he is pretty awesome (his wife Kathie is pretty rad too) . Matt hired me to make him a fun t-shirt to go along with his latest, freshest sound that he could sell while he’s touring the west coast. Here is what I came up with:
I printed these on un-wrinkled silver American Apparel tees but printed an extra one for myself on a green, wrinkly, shirt.
Be sure to check Matt out on tour and pick up a shirt while your at it.
